What's Best for Me?

To determine what type of flooring is best for you, start by considering what kind of use your floor will be getting. Is this area high-traffic with pets, kids, or equipment? Or a quieter space that needs a refresh? Next, consider your budget for this project. Finally, determine what sort of look you are hoping to achieve with your new floor. Whether modern or vintage, rustic or polished, we’ll work together to find a floor that is an extension of your personal style.

Flooring Options

Discover the future of flooring. Marmoleum floors are natural, sustainable, durable, and stunningly beautiful. Not only is this the first floor covering to receive a Asthma & Allergy Friendly(™) certification, it’s also naturally antistatic and resistant to bacteria. This SMART certified sustainable product comes in a huge array of colors, in both sheet and tile.

Vinyl tile flooring comes in an array of styles. Some, like VCT, come in solid or retro-flecked colors that look great in checkerboard patterns, while others offer the durability of a stone or ceramic floor at a fraction of the cost. A vinyl tile floor is incredibly durable and cleans up with the swish of a mop–no scrubbing of grout! It’s a great alternative in the kitchen and entryway, as it helps lessen foot and knee strains that are common hazards of a hard surface floor like ceramic or stone.

Sheet vinyl flooring is a great, hard-wearing, easy to clean flooring option. Rooms that see a lot of traffic, particularly in homes with kids and pets (or surfers and mountain bikers), might benefit most from sheet vinyl. This option also works well in areas susceptible to moisture, like bathrooms and laundry rooms. It’s available in a wide selection of patterns and colors to give you plenty of flexibility in choosing what’s right for your home.

Underlayment is a thin layer of wood installed over subfloor wherever sheet vinyl flooring will be installed. It provides a smooth surface for the vinyl floor to lay upon. (Subfloor is the main structured floor the walls are built on, usually very rough.) Most of the time, if caught early enough, replacing the underlayment can repair visible water damage in your floor, before it gets to the subfloor. This can be very cost efficient and can help you avoid the expense of replacing subfloor.
